"Criminal Minds" Season 12 spoilers reveal that the CBS series will be undergoing a few major changes, as the show will be featuring a major arc ahead. In an interview with showrunner Erica Messer, she told TVLine that a character will be returning to the show to help with an upcoming big arc ahead.

"This big arc that we're doing has reenergized everybody, like, 'We can do [a serialized saga],'" she said.

Messer teased that in "Criminal Minds" Season 12, the rest of the episodes will feature changes for all of its characters. There have been speculations that this change may involve Matthew Gray Gubler's character, Reid, especially since one of the upcoming episodes is named after him.

Messer also shared that another character will be returning to the show, which will reveal more about the past of a certain character. "Criminal Minds" Season 12 spoilers from Entertainment Weekly hint that this revelation is bound to surprise a lot of viewers.
