Sony Xperia X2 Specs and Release Updates: New Device Could Have Bigger Screen & Better Camera
Nens MitchellBy the end of the month, Sony is expected to announce new handsets to the public during the Mobile World Congress 2017 including the Sony Xperia X2. Fans are already excited for this upcoming release from Sony.
Specs and Features
Expected to be a mid-range phone, the Sony Xperia X2 is thought to come with a 5.5-inch screen that could have a 4K resolution, TechRadar reported. It also claimed that the phone could maximize its front part with an edge-to-edge screen.
In terms of design, speculations indicate that there will be no buttons on the front despite the big screen of the upcoming handset. It may also come with a metal design since Sony has already shifted from the usual glass makeup to a metal one.
Chipset and camera details
According to PC Advisor, the Sony Xperia X2 could sport a Snapdragon 820 chipset and maintain the fingerprint sensor which was also part of other Sony Xperia X releases. It is also anticipated that the upcoming Sony handset could have 4GB of RAM and a USB-C connector.
For the camera, the Sony Xperia X2 may have a powerful 23MP main camera and a 16MP secondary front-facing shooter. Sony has been known to add its own lenses to the cameras of their releases making this one of the top offerings of the brand.
Pricing and release updates
In addition, the upcoming device could also have a battery capacity similar to the Sony Xperia X which is at 2620mAh. All these features are expected to be packed for a price around $550.
Alphr indicated that Sony could reveal details about the device during the MWC 2017 in Barcelona, Spain, from Feb. 27 to March 2. If the the Sony Xperia X2 will not be mentioned in this upcoming event, the report added that it could be unveiled in September this year.
