Looks like Ubisoft will be quite tied up this year with a slew of titles in the offing. "Honor" and "Ghost Recon Wildlands" are already on the verge of hitting the store shelves; however, there's something more on the game developer's plate if a potential leak from a retailer is anything to go by.

It looks like GameStop may have accidentally spilled the beans about the release date for Ubisoft's upcoming first-person shooter video game, "Far Cry 5." Apparently, the US-based video game retailer divulged the release date for "Far Cry 5" through their upcoming software release list for this year, SG Gaming Info reported.

If this proved to be true, the game could arrive on Nov. 26, 2017. There is also a possibility that this could merely be a placeholder date for the upcoming title.

The game's release date has surfaced online despite the lack of any sort of an official confirmation from Ubisoft. Moreover, with the game developer reportedly gearing up to launch a slew of other big titles this year, the "Far Cry 5" release date revelation should be taken with a grain of salt.

When SG Gaming Info got in touch with the retailer regarding the alleged release date, they were informed that the store was out of stock of "Far Cry 5" for PS4 with no specific date mentioned for more stock to arrive. A GameStop employee reinforced that the title is set for the listed Nov. 26 release date.

It's quite unlikely that Ubisoft will unveil the still-unannounced "Far Cry 5" title either in the spring or summer, and then release it in fall. Ubisoft VP of editorial, Tommy François also debunked these speculations while talking with IGN last year.

François told the publication that the studio may opt not to come out with new "Assassin's Creed" and "Far Cry" games this year. Ubisoft is currently focused on ensuring that all new games get top-notch quality rather than deviating its attention to developing new games.

In other words, François confirmed that there will be no new Assassin's game or a "Far Cry" in 2017.
