"The Walking Dead" may finally show some more of the lead characters stepping up against their common enemy. In a newly released clip, the resistance speaks out on what the future could hold not just for them, but also for the opposition.

In an interview with IGN, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 stars shared their thoughts on the possibility of a showdown between Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln). After the mistreatment that Negan showed towards the inhabitants of Alexandria by taking their resources and killing off their residents, Rick may have had the last straw and decided to end the tyranny for good.

The stars disclosed how the next season will tackle the possibility of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) going up against the faction of The Saviors and, more importantly, Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The first part of Season 7 showed how Negan bent Rick's group under his will by killing off members of the family to prove a point.

Before the season went on break, "The Walking Dead" showed how Rick was able to regroup with some of his friends, mainly Daryl, Maggie and Tara. They were seen heading to the Hilltop and are supposed to arrange an alliance with Gregory (Xander Berkeley) to take on The Saviors. Recent trailers also showed how Rick attempted to get the vote of Ezekiel (Khary Payton) from the Kingdom by proposing to joining forces to take out Negan once and for all.

"The Walking Dead" showed the ups and downs that Rick has gone through as a person, taking on tough decisions to keep his group alive. After the adversities he faced and trials he had to surpass, Negan is his biggest challenge yet. He may yet gain an advantage with numbers. The seventh season resumes on February 12, 2017 on AMC.
