Xbox Project Scorpio Update: No Pre-Orders Yet; Cross-Play With PC Affirmative, Says Phil Spencer Says [VIDEO]
Pia MerciIn the past couple of months, the Project Scorpio hype train has been definitely derailed and setting back on track for numerous times. Most people have apparently looked and believed into some leaked specs such as Scorpio not having the exact 4K powerhouse that its fans are highly anticipating for. Additionally, Microsoft has also come up with the decision of removing "High-Fidelity" VR from its main Project Scorpio page.
With those aforementioned, it does not further conclude that Project Scorpio will not be incredible or powerful. Reports say that people still believe that the upcoming gaming console would be the most powerful one in the world as soon as it comes out later this 2017.
That is to say, Project Scorpio is still on board, though many of the console's fans are wondering when they would be able to pre-order the console. As per Xbox Boss Phil Spencer's response to this question via his Twitter account, he said that he wants everyone to be patient and wait until the games, which will particularly be running on the console will be shown.
The Xbox head's statement should not supposedly be taken as a word of caution, being spoken to likely disappointed fans. Spencer is not saying that Project Scorpio may not live up to people's expectation but rather, fans might want to wait.
With that being said, he is seemingly saying that anticipating fans cannot possibly pre-order now and what's left is just to wait. Once the games are shown and how they correspond with the console, it will greatly convince them that it is something that they need. That's the time that these fans will be informed on when and where to order Project Scorpio.
Moreover, in the same string of tweets, the same fan asks Spencer whether more games in the future will be able to offer cross-play with PC. Note that Microsoft has revealed "Gears of War 4" would be opening up a social cross-play playlist for Windows 10 and Xbox One gamers to be able to enjoy playing together
. Fortunately, the Xbox boss affirmatively responded saying that it is their main goal. Though "Halo Wars 2" doesn't for some engine reasons but it is their priority for Xbox going forward cross-play.
