Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks Reveal Design Blunder; Samsung Roping In New Japanese Battery Manufacturer For Flagship

It was earlier reported that Samsung was causing a big design mistake with its Galaxy S8 flagship by putting the fingerprint scanner at a very uneasy place on the rear. Now, fresh reports have confirmed the information to be true. The Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone is expected to be a tech marvel and design mistakes such as the one reported are insane, especially if they are coming from the likes of Samsung. CNET Korea has created detailed schematics of the Galaxy S8, based on information provided by insider sources.

Forbes has reported via CNET Korea that the Samsung Galaxy S8 may actually have the fingerprint scanner at a ridiculous position on the rear of the handset. An earlier prototype leak had stated that Samsung has not only repositioned its fingerprint scanner to the back but have put it high up to the right side of the camera. Recent information from sources has confirmed the news. While there is no problem with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner (Google Pixel XL has it in the upper middle third), Samsung's placement is a bit weird.

The placement may result in three issues. It will be harder to reach and people with small hands will find it even harder. Placing the Galaxy S8's fingerprint scanner on the right means easy access for right-handed people, not those who are left-handed. Moreover, the unusual position also means, people will touch and rub the camera lens a lot, which is not good news for the lens. This placement will make users irritated who unlock their devices hundreds of times in a day. People may in fact be annoyed after a few days of use.

However, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will have a large display, stunning design and a highly-upgraded camera. Samsung may use a different manufacturer after the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. Samsung is reportedly changing its battery supplier and shifting to a new Japanese manufacturer, Murata Manufacturing Company, reports Korean website Han Kyung.
