The Bitbag reports that several Android enthusiasts have already given suggestions to what to name Android 8. Many were pleased when Android N was named Nougat and as early as now, people are giving its individual ideas for the Android O OS.
Several suggestions were food-related, giving the name like "Oreo" and Orange." Oreo is indeed a popular cookie in the food industry and many would want that for the OS. It's certainly has a better catch than Nougat and is also one of the popular choices presented for Google.
Other than that, many Android aficionados also sent a name without relating to any food product or fruit is the Android OMG. The popular expression has become a staple in texting industry and now, the internet culture. Naming the upcoming OS OMG can also add twist to the name.
For the meantime, Google is still silent with regard to its plans. But for sure, Google still has a long way ahead to develop and come up with new features for the OS.
In the meantime, Android users can enjoy the newest updates that the company has released. According to Yibada, multiple smartphones that are powered by Android OS will receive updates. Devices such as Google, Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola and HTC will be given updates accordingly.
Android 7.0 Nougat first came to the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and supported General Mobile 4G Android One models. The current and incremental Android Nougat 7.1.2 will be coming to the aforementioned smartphones in the near future.
Samsung has confirmed that handhelds like Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Tab A with S-Pen, Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A8 will receive Android Nougat 7.1.2 in first half of 2017. Meanwhile, HTC 10 Lifestyle and HTC One A9 smartphones is now available for Europe-based users.
