"Outlander" season 3 set may see a cast member wearing a Saltire onesie, after a wager between its lead stars took a comical turn. Perpetuated by executive producer Matthew B. Roberts himself, fans of the hit TV series did not hesitate to jump on board, making the Twitter exchange worth a read.

Apparently, both Sam Heughan (Jamie) and Caitriona Balfe (Claire) are rugby fans. Last week saw the pair challenge each other to set a wager over the Scotland v Ireland rugby clash at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium via Twitter. What started off as a joke had taken a more serious twist, as the "Outlander" season 3 hunk was adamant to make sure his onscreen love follows through on her side of the bet.

Whether fans of "Outlander" season 3 will get a glimpse of Balfe sporting a Scotland rugby outfit or not remains to be seen at this point, but Heughan seems hell-bent after the Scotland 27 Ireland 22 score. The Scottish actor has since decided to make things more interesting by challenging the Irish beauty to wear a full Saltire onesie.

Balfe had a pretty good excuse to avoid the stakes, who wrote: "[D]amn. Starting to feel so sick... might not make it in Monday .... Sniff cough cough." Heughan was quick to write back, saying: "I have vitamin C.... And a spare shirt...."

Meanwhile, the Daily Record reports that production for "Outlander" season 3 has been non-stop. As if confirming the news, a fan tweeted a video of Heughan with the caption "2 days to go to South Africa!"

Previous reports have indicated that the "Outlander" season 3 team is scheduled for South Africa in May. Heughan's revelation would mean there has been a shift in the production schedule. Check out these pictures from the Twitter feed of Chris Saint-Martin to see the "Outlander" set in full glory.
