iPhone 8 Vs. Samsung Galaxy S8: The Similarities & Differences, Who Has The Upper Hand? Check Unique Specs, Roundup Here
Lei AlbaApple and Samsung are purportedly gearing up to launch new flagship devices this year namely iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8, respectively. To help users decide on which smartphone is worth buying more than the other, here's a list of some unique specs that are suggested to be implemented on both mobile phones. See the similarities and differences below.
The Cupertino-based tech giant is speculated to introduce the OLED display to its iPhone series with the upcoming iPhone 8. This marks the first time that the iOS device manufacturer will take this technology but some users may not know that Samsung Display is the sole supplier of OLED Smartphone displays according to Forbes. This apparently means that if Apple pursues an OLED display on the iPhone 8, then it would just be comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Both smartphones from the two tech giants are also believed to sport an iris scanner. Though the companies have not officially announced the specs of the devices, it is highly likely for Samsung Galaxy S8 to retain Galaxy S7's iris scanning feature. Speculations also point that iPhone 8 might embed this additional system for increased security, reportedly.
However, there are some new features that are unique to Samsung Galaxy S8 alone as per a report by Tech Times. The mobile phone is expected to implement a Desktop Mode and a Beast Mode. The Desktop Mode allows owners to connect the device to a PC monitor for a more flawless browsing and computing experience.
The Beast Mode, on the other hand, will reportedly become a favorite of gamers. Nothing much is explained about the feature but reports say that it will increase the graphics ability and processing power of the device. This might boost the device's performance for an even better and more powerful gaming.
Samsung Galaxy S8 specs may seem more innovative at the moment but iPhone 8 is also speculated to sport some new features that fans have not seen on iOS smartphones before. Expected to arrive with wireless charging and facial and gesture recognition, Apple's new flagship device could be a tight competition to Samsung's. Fans, however, are advised to take speculations with skepticism until both companies confirm the specs of the upcoming smartphones.
