"Sherlock" Season 4 renewal or cancellation status remains unknown, as BBC has not yet confirmed whether the drama will be back for a series 5. In a report from The Concourse, the publication examines the possibility that the show may be converted into a movie instead.

There are rumors that "Sherlock" Season 5 may not happen because its lead stars, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are busy with their respective projects. The conversion of the BBC drama into a movie would make it easier for the cast members to provide a better and more fitting finale to the show without taking up too much of their schedule.

"Sherlock" also does not have that much episode and each one of them is almost as long as an entire movie, so it would not be difficult to do this transition. Meanwhile, series creator Mark Gatiss responded to the backlash surrounding the latest episodes of the BBC series, reports Independent.

Many fans responded negatively to the three latest episodes from "Sherlock" Series 4, with some expressing disappointment that certain characters were not given their proper ending, especially since there are rumors that the show is coming to an end. According to Gatiss, it is hard to please everyone, but he often gets positive comments from people he meets on the streets.
