"The Witcher 4" is not out yet and CD Projekt is not announcing anything about it. Still, fans of the game are hoping that the game developer will set its sight on it so they can make a follow-up game soon.

With the existing game sequels, CD Projekt Red has a lot to use as base for developing "The Witcher 4." In fact, there are so many possibilities that the gaming company can look into to create new characters, gameplay and settings.

Then again, it should be noted that all the news about the fourth installment are considered speculations at the moment since Projekt Red is not releasing any update yet until now. Also, the studio is neither debunking or confirming any news, hence, nothing is clear about the game at this point.

But just like any popular games, fans and game experts continue to publish details about "The Witcher 4" and there are some suggestions that make sense. One of the highly possible detail that have been imparted so far is about the new playable character.

In this case, many agree that Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon or simply Ciri would be the lead in the next sequel. According to SideQuest, Ciri is very powerful and has shown immense courage. She was trained by Geralt of Rivia, went through the most difficult adversity and succeeded in defeating her enemies.

In short, her qualities make her a good Witcher and this is why many believe she will be the next protagonist after Geralt. As most gamers already know, Geralt's story has come to an end in "The Witcher 3", so a new lead is definitely coming.

"I think good stories must have an ending. You cannot extend them indefinitely," CDProjekt Red senior writer Jakub Szamałek told IGN. "We felt that Geralt has had such an amazing adventure, and his saga is already so long and complex that this seemed like a good point to think about an appropriate finale for the story."

Release Date

CD Projekt Red is currently busy with developing its new RPG game "Cyberpunk 2077." Many are saying that this may be launched between 2017 and 2022, so there is little time to spend for another game. However, if the company decide to work on "The Witcher 4" any time now, the release date for this will still not be until after 2020.
