‘The Seven Deadly Sins' Season 2 Mini-Series To Stream On Netflix In February
S. Turla"The Seven Deadly Sins" is an anime based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki ("Rising Impact," "Blizzard Axe!"). Recent reports have revealed that the anime's second season will premiere on Netflix this month.
According to Ecumenical News, Netflix will start streaming of "The Seven Deadly Sins" Season 2 anime starting Feb. 17. The company acquired "exclusive rights to the fantasy anime," and Netflix previously released the first season with English dubbing and subtitles. The anime is one of a handful of "exclusively licensed anime on the website."
However, fans of the show were disappointed when they found out that the upcoming release was reportedly mislabeled by the company. The alleged second season of "The Seven Deadly Sins" anime is, in fact, not an actual sequel.
"The Seven Deadly Sins" Signs of Holy War is only made up of four episodes and is a "bridging season" that will link the anime to the plot of the manga of the same name. The four-episode miniseries has been out in Japan for a while now, and this is a common practice in anime "to ensure continuity and maintain familiarity even with the transition to the succeeding season."
"The Seven Deadly Sins" manga focuses on the titular group of characters who were "once an active group of knights in the region of Britannia." The group disbanded after they have allegedly planned to overthrow the Liones Kingdom. The Seven Deadly Sins were said to be defeated by the Holy Knights, and Princess Elizabeth, the third princess of the kingdom, sets out on a journey to find them and take back her kingdom.
In other news, Inquisitr has revealed that the mistake may not be intentional on Netflix's part. Although if Netflix did market "The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War" as Season 2 of the anime, they are technically right as it "is indeed a sequel to Season 1 of The Seven Deadly Sins. In fact, the series extends the storyline of the first season."
