Microsoft Reveal Screenshot Of The Upcoming Windows 10 Project Neon
Gloven RamosMicrosoft teased the new upcoming design language for Windows 10, Project Neon. During the developer conference recently held this week, Microsoft provided a screenshot of the project update.
Last year, Microsoft announced an incremental upgrade for the Windows 10 design. Many speculations said that Project Neon is a major upgrade for Windows 10, but it just actually a fairly minor update that builds on the current Windows 10 UI, the MDL2.
According to Windows Central, the Windows 10 Project Neon will come in all types of Windows 10 devices, including smartphones, HoloLens, and even Xbox consoles. It will focus on simplicity, consistency and animations that would seem like the old Windows 7's Aero Glass with a mix of animations from the Window Phone 8.
On the screenshot provided by Microsoft, the Windows 10 Project Neon appears that it is attempting to enhance the Windows design. The Groove windows show no dedicated bar, but the close and maximize options are still on the upper-right corner. Reports also suggest that blur effect component called "Acrylic" is also included in the update.
Another goal of Microsoft for the Windows 10 Project Neon is to provide developers with an easy time in making apps on Windows. New Controls, semantic animations and built-in effects for default experiences are reportedly underway.
Microsoft previously announced that the expected date for the release of Windows 10 Project Neon will be in mid 2017. MS Power User said, "Windows Insiders will likely get the first glimpse of Project NEON around May or June 2017, but there's a good chance of some Project Neon elements showing up on some of Microsoft's own apps with the Windows 10 Creators Update even before that."
