The Deep End Games, a game developer, has recently announced that its debut game "Perception" is slated to come to Xbox One soon.

The announcement about the upcoming first-person horror game was not a total surprise. In fact, its developer The Deep End Games has spoken more than a year ago that, apparently, an Xbox One edition of "Perception" was a possibility. The upcoming game, which is said to be the brainchild of former "BioShock" developers, is in development as well for PC and PlayStation 4.

According to Xbox Wire, players will be taking the role of a blind woman named Cassie Thornton. She must make her way through a mansion located in Massachusetts. A supernatural force dubbed as "the presence" is said to be occupying the mansion, making it a haunted one. The only physical tools that are available for players to use are a walking stick and a smartphone.

Moreover, since the character in "Perception" is supposedly blind, sharp hearing is very essential. More importantly, sound is a major element to play the game.

The more sound players create the greater chance they  have in getting the attention of the malignant force lurking inside the house. Not only that, the sound is said to create visualization as well, which will illuminate the world players are dwelling in.

As what the project lead Bill Gardner told Gamespot way back 2015, shotguns, magic powers and whatnots will not be the key weapons. It would appear to rely more on the player's senses, hence, the game's title. Additionally, Gardner worked at Irrational for more than a decade, most recently as a "BioShock Infinite" design director.

"Perception" plays out across various chapters with different time periods. Each era is said to explain some of the horrific things that have happened inside the mansion. As soon as each mystery is solved, players travel back in time and the mansion slowly dwindles back to its original form, to the birth of its horrors.

In addition, "Perception's" objective is to capture a hide-and-seek feeling. On the other hand, there is still no official release date that has been announced, GameSpot reported.
