'The Walking Dead' Season 7: Scott Gimple Revealed Carl Is Unlikely to Leave the Series; But What About Sasha? Details Here!
Coco DollangangerEveryone has been used to "The Walking Dead" losing characters; major characters to be specific without any warning and most fans are still not over with losing Glenn and Abraham. Just before the popular zombie apocalypse show hits its second half of season 7 on Feb. 12, there have been speculations about Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) leaving the show.
Showrunner Scott Gimple has opened up about the two's speculated departure from the AMC show saying that no one is actually safe with or without side gigs. Talking about Sasha's storyline, Gimple said that the struggle is difficult but fortunately, he has planned ahead of time and there are also turns in the story where some of it can be recognized from the comics.
"We do live in a different world [from the comics] but on The Walking Dead, you should genuinely always worry for all of the characters," he told the Hollywood Reporter. He went on to say that there is always something to worry about losing those characters who may have side gigs or no side gigs.
Martin-Green was cast as the lead role in the forthcoming "Star Trek: Discovery" TV show and this is one reason why there have been speculations that she's leaving "The Walking Dead." Sasha is one of the kick ass characters in the show, who is still recovering Abraham's gruesome death from the hand of the antagonist Negan and it would be bad news for all fans who like her big time in the event that she leaves.
As for Riggs, reports say that he is moving to college and is fans are starting to worry that he might not be able to go on as a series regular and might also leave "The Walking Dead." Thankfully, Gimple sounds like fans will continue seeing Carl in the series saying that college is easier than high school as it will be more flexible and he lives close to the set.
