'Overwatch' Latest Guide: Best Tricks On How To Skip Genji's Dragonblade Ending Animation
Keisuke AkioIn "Overwatch," players are eager to find ways on how to cancel Ganji's animation. We have gathered tips from players who have successfully skipped Genji's Dragonblade Ending Animation in "Overwatch."
How To Skip or Cancel Ganji's Dragonblade Ending Animation
PVP Live notes that ulting with Genji in "Overwatch" can seem like an all-or-nothing strategy most of the time. When you do this, you go in with Dragonblade and you grab a team wipe, or the enemy team gets the chance to kite and slay you while Genji is trapped in his sheathing animation.
You can use Swiftstrike, which is normally bound to Shift, to immediately cancel the animation and go back to your normal fire. In addition, this not only could help you secure that last kill, but you can also use it to disengage and get back to throwing projectiles as well as charge another Dragonblade.
Meanwhile, in an "Overwatch" forum, one player under the name Damathacus mentioned that Genji's ultimate has rather long ending animation during which you normally cannot do anything. Because Genji's ultimate overrides his normal melee attack the usual way of skipping animations with melee attack doesn't work. However, Genji's wall climb animation will override his ultimate's ending animation allowing him to throw his first shuriken after the ultimate around second faster than normally if done correctly.
To do the trick, slightly jump against any wall just as your ultimate is about to end and the ending animation would typically start. If done correctly instead of playing the ending animation for the ultimate in "Overwatch," Genji will instead slightly lower his hands in order to start the wall climb animation. When this animation starts you can simply turn away from the wall canceling the wall climb and instantly start throwing shurikens the usual way. In addition, players can also use his dash right before the ending animation starts will also cancel it.
Moreover, the end of Dragon Blade in "Overwatch" will also cancel deflect. So when you hit Deflect with 0.5 seconds left of Dragon's Blade you will still sheathe your sword at the normal time and lose the rest of your deflect. If you swift strike when the countdown for your ultimate ending reaches under 1 second you will skip the sheathing animation.
