'GTA 6' To Possibly Release In 2018; Game Could Be Set In London
Keisuke Akio"GTA 6" will allegedly release on 2018. In addition, the upcoming game is speculated to be set in London.
With the recent official announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2" most likely the release of "GTA 6" has been pushed back until at least 2018. Possibly, Rockstar would want to focus on the next iteration in its Wild West series. The path, however, now is more clear, with "Red Dead Redemption 2" out of the way, for a return to present-day crime action, says Expert Reviews.
"GTA 6" Possible Release Date
If we base our prediction on "Grand Theft Auto" release timeline, we can anticipate an interval of around four or five years between "GTA 5" and "GTA 6." In 2014, "GTA: San Andreas" was released, "GTA 4" came out in 2008, while "GTA 5" came out in 2013. The timeline reveals a potential release in 2018.
Rockstar, however, recently announced that "Red Dead Redemption 2" was due to launch in autumn of 2017. Both the "GTA 6" and "RDR2" are open-world adventure games and it is only worth noting that Rockstar would take their time and not to rush one out after the other. While a 2018 launch is possible, a more realistic prediction for the "GTA 6" release window is probably on 2019 or 2020.
"GTA 6" London
There have been several speculations that Rockstar could be considering locations outside of America. There is even a prediction of return to London following 1999's "Grand Theft Auto: London 1969" mission pack for the original game. While fans are speculating a possibility of "GTA 6 London," an interview with Rockstar's Writer Dan Houser revealed their position on the "GTA 6 London."
When The Guardian asked him about a possible "GTA 6" in London, he said that his gut feeling was that "GTA London" was cool for the time but games were more limited then. These days, he said that they would love to set a game in the UK, set in London. However, he does not know if it would be a GTA game.
Houser was further quoted saying that there are plenty of great stories Rockstar could tell about the UK. The place has a great environment to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have the UK bent to them. He said that he just do not think it would be a "GTA 6" necessarily.
