‘For Honor’ Release Date Has Finally Come: Map Hides ‘Mortal Kombat’ Easter Egg As Beta Ends; Find It Here
CJ Estimada"For Honor" beta has ended and beta testers have started showing off their executions and clutch victories. This means that the ultimate cross-platform Faction War is just about to begin.
But, before that, a Redditor, out of the 3 million who played the beta found what must be a "Mortal Kombat" reference tucked away in one corner of a "For Honor" map. Lacront caught a glimpse of two characters fighting in the background.
Those Two Guys On The Bridge
A scene from the background of the Pit stage in "Mortal Kombat 2" is noticeable from a distance. The fiery figure is Blaze, a character from "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance," "Mortal Kombat: Unchained" and "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon," who has also made a series of appearances and cameos in other franchise titles, including "Mortal Kombat X." The other guy is simply referred to as Hornbuckle, according to VG24/7.
Nonetheless, only a genuine fan of "Mortal Kombat" would recognize what's truly going on there. The execution of this easter egg is fairly solid, as it's not straightaway obvious who the guys on the bridge are at first look. Ubisoft clearly wouldn't want to put anything into "For Honor" that would obviously look out of place for the game, and so Hornbuckle and Blaze appear to have been purposely designed in a way that also rather look like "For Honor's" own warriors, writes Game Rant.
"For Honor" Launches February 14
"For Honor" is a PvP-focused game that will let players go to fight as Vikings, Samurai and Knights. It also features a single-player campaign. The game is perhaps Ubisoft's biggest release of the year even though it's only February. "For Honor" has the potential to become a major new franchise if things go well on the sales charts.
"For Honor" launches today, February 14th, 2017 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Sharpen your blades and get ready to carve out your legacy. We're expecting it to be pretty mega so stay tuned for updates.
