'League of Legends' Latest News Reveals Upcoming 7.5 Patch Aimed At Tanks & Lethality Items
Keisuke AkioThere will be upcoming changes to tanks and Lethality-based items in "League of Legends." The anticipated changes will be included in the "League of Legends" patch 7.5.
Recently, Andrei 'Meddler' van Roon, core gameplay lead designer, left a few notes on the upcoming "League of Legends" patch 7.5. He made a quick post about some of the things that they were currently thinking about or working on. He said that the information is not that comprehensive and he will not go into all the details. These are experiments to get quick updates released regularly, he added.
Patch 7.5
According to Meddler, they have been doing several balance planning for "League of Legends" patch 7.5 in the past days. Particularly, noteworthy targets include possible nerfs to Edge of Night and Varus. There is also the continuation of work on Fizz and Blade of the Ruined King that was not ready in time for patch 7.4.
Lethality's buff in "League of Legends" patch 7.2, according to PVP Live, has definitely done the job of making once-ignored items significant to the game. The 20 percent increase to flat armor penetration from the start has made its item sets a must-have for poking champions like Varus, who want to get as much as possible out of a single spell.
Defensive Items
Currently, Meddler revealed that they are testing on taking out a moderate volume of power amount from defensive stats on items such as Health, MR and Armor. In addition, they are adding some power to base stats on Vanguards, Wardens and Juggernauts, at least. Higher base stats on the traditional tank roles actually ends up helping them. This change will make laning easier, early trades more profitable, and reaching the itemization you need for late-game relevance easier to achieve.
The downside is for the non-tanks, whose defensive itemization will take a foremost blow two patches from now. Being softer in the face of improved Lethality items does not sound all that great, especially for a class like ADCs who were already fraught to stay relevant.
