'GTA 6' Release Date, Location & Rumor Roundup [VIDEO]; When Is It Arriving?
Vinay PatelRockstar Games' lips are sealed about "GTA 6's" release date. No prizes for guessing, this has added more fuel to the already burning rumors about the long awaited sequel to "GTA 5."
Rockstar Games opted to announce the release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" while still keeping mum about the equally anticipated "GTA 6's" release date. Presumably, Rockstar Games have their hands full with "RDR 2's" looming launch.
The next installment in the Red Dead series is expected to hit the store shelves sometime in fall this year, meaning, Rockstar Games' "GTA" series will be taking a back seat for a while, but there's no official confirmation regarding the timespan. Nevertheless, there's hearsay that "GTA 6" could arrive after three years i.e. in 2020.
Meanwhile, "GTA 5" is still receiving regular updates from the game developer, which is hardly surprising since the title is the company's current cash cow. In their bid to keep "GTA" loyalists glued to the game until 2020, Rockstar Games is even rolling out multiplayer content via "GTA Online," according to The Christian Post.
The rumor stems from the three-year time frame the company needed to follow up "GTA Online" with its western-themed title, "RDR 2". If Rockstar Games sticks to the same release pattern, a 2020 release date for "GTA 6" seems quite plausible.
Another report from TechRadar claim "GTA 6" release date will not be unveiled in near future; in fact, the game is unlikely to arrive at least for the next four years. Moreover, there's no word regarding the possible setting for "GTA 6," however, the rumor mill suggests it will be massive. In fact, gaming analyst believes it could even surpass the huge success garnered by "GTA 5."
Furthermore, it is expected to put the already comprehensive "GTA 5" map to shame by going all the way to a country-sized proportion. If recently surfaced reports are anything to go by, "GTA 6" could feature the entire United States as far as setting is concerned. In order to expedite things, it will have some sort of fast travel mechanics.
Some reports, on the other hand, cite Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser's quote that hint at a non-U.S. setting -- somewhere probably in Great Britain, maybe London. Multiple sources claim that "GTA 6" will incorporate VR (virtual reality).
"GTA" fans must bear in mind that none of this has been officially confirmed yet, and should take these reports with a huge grain of salt.
