Xbox Games Update: Xbox Boss Confirms ‘Bigger’ First Party Titles For 2017; More Backward Compatibility Games In Store; Project Scorpio Update
Arianne GiftMicrosoft is going big this year, according to Xbox Head himself, Phil Spencer. The gaming giant is set to release "bigger and more differentiated" first party titles for 2017, both for Xbox One and Windows 10.
In a new Xbox Wire update, Spencer says that players can expect more in store at E3 2017. "We are focused on building the largest games library in Xbox console history, which means our Xbox One Backward Compatibility lineup will continue growing this year," the Xbox boss said.
Meanwhile, Spencer also revealed that more things are to come from independent developers. The exec mentioned his favorites on the post, including "Cuphead," "Below," "Ark: Survival Evolved," "Thimbleweed Park," We Happy Few" and "Tacoma."
Microsoft is currently focused on building the biggest games library in the history of Xbox, which means the company's Xbox One Backward Compatibility lineup will keep on growing. Spencer also confirmed that more games will be added throughout 2017.
Along with "State of Decay 2," "Sea of Thieves" and "Crackdown 3," a roster of titles are expected to be announced at E3. "With such a broad and varied roster of games and first party exclusives on the horizon... and the upcoming launch of Project Scorpio, 2017 is going to be an incredible year for Xbox One and Windows 10 gamers," he added.
In related news, Microsoft's Project Scorpio is starting to shape up, with Spencer saying that the company is committed to delivering even more exclusive games than it launched in 2016. The brand new console already has a diverse lineup of games, although no official titles have been released yet.
Microsoft will hold a press briefing on June 11, 2017, and it is expected that more Project Scorpio updates are to be announced. On the other hand, E3 2017 will take place from June 13 to June 15, 2017 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. You can register here.
