*NSYNC Denies Reunion Rumors, Fans are Brokenhearted
S. TurlaEager fans of the hit 90s boy band *NSYNC were disappointed when the group's official Twitter account denied the rumors of an upcoming reunion. It appears that Lance Bass' earlier comments were taken out of context.
The band's first tweet on Friday, Feb. 17, read "We always appreciate the love and excitement from our fans unfortunately Lance's comments to the press were taken out of context." The second tweet from the verified Twitter account of *NSYNC read, "When there is real news from *NSYNC you will hear it from all of us."
According to The Huffington Post, Lance Bass previously told Entertainment Tonight's Katie Krause that the group is "planning a special music release to coincide with an upcoming album anniversary." The singer also let it slip that the band is planning "a reunion appearance."
Earlier last week, Krause interviewed Bass at his home in L.A., per ET Online. The two talked about *NSYNC's 20-year anniversary, and he told her about the band's special surprise for their fans.
The singer said, "We're doing something [special].I don't know if I can announce it yet." Bass added, "We're coming out with a really cool vinyl edition of our Christmas album because it's coming up on the 20 years of that [1998 Home for Christmas] album." He continued, "And then we're going to be getting our star on the [Hollywood] Walk of Fame this year at some point."
Bass, who is currently a competitor on the show "My Kitchen Rules" on Fox, also shared that the whole band will be present when the band gets their star. He did warn that they were all bad at "planning things" since all five members find it hard to decide about certain things.
The singer shares that he hopes everyone decides on a final date near December of this year. Bass also thinks that it "will be fun" to see all of the other members of *NSYNC once again. Bass told Krause that the members still talk daily even though the band has already broken up. "My Kitchen Rules" airs every Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
