Play ‘Here They Lie’ On PS4 & PS4 Pro Without A PSVR Headset After The Update Sets In Today
Arianne GiftLaunched in 2016 for PlayStation VR, horror game "Here They Lie" will receive an update today, Feb. 21, which will make it playable on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro sans the VR headset, Tangentlemen announced. Additionally, current game owners will have access to this VR-less option when the update goes live.
Announced via the PlayStation Blog, Co-creative Director Cory Davis said, "'Here They Lie' will be updated on February 21 to be playable without a PSVR headset - the Standard version. If you already own 'Here They Lie' for PSVR, you'll automatically receive this update through a downloadable patch."
Moreover, PS4 Pro owners will get 4K/HDR support and a better quality render-mode for the console on PSVR. Post-processing effects have also been added on "Here They Lie," better shadows, ambient occlusion, and dynamic flashlight shadows.
Among the features added in "Here They Lie's" update include a Chapter Select screen, a controller config screen, subtitles for the Standard version, and enhanced anti-aliasing and lighting. PSVR users will enjoy improved head tracking, more tutorial screens, sharper visuals, and the option to switch seamlessly between the VR and non-VR version.
The new "Here They Lie" update serves as Tangentlemen's response to user feedback on its official website, where most suggestions and requests for the game have been implemented. Davis' announcement has so far received positive response from current game owners. One user, Xaos, said: "I had wandered away from this game, despite it being directly up my alley in terms of theme and tone due to recurring motion sickness. This seems like the incentive I need to give it another go."
"Here They Lie" updated with PS4 and PS4 Pro support is scheduled today, Feb. 21. It is being developed by Tangentlemen and SIE Santa Monica Studio, and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Watch the PS VR launch trailer below.
