'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Release Date, New Weaponry, Combat & More! New Gameplay Video Released; Watch Here
Vinay Patel"Mass Effect: Andromeda" has received a brand new trailer ahead of its scheduled March 21 release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The recently rolled out trailer sheds more light on some key facets of the game including character classes, loadouts, weaponry, and combat styles. A considerable part of the gameplay picks up from the first three games and the same applies to the weaponry as well. Players can master the skills of using pistols, shotguns, assault rifles or sniper rifles and later utilize the skill points to get whatever they prefer. Characters are not restricted to any single one and they have the option to change loadouts in between missions.
Contrary to previous "Mass Effect" games, characters from "Mass Effect: Andromeda" are not subject to class and are capable of deviating their focus in between builds. Aside from that, the cover system has undergone a radical overhaul making it even better than "Mass Effect 3, TechnoBuffalo reported.
Players now have access to a slew of Melee weapons that they can use for a quick kill. Weapon skills have also been enhanced -- with hammers now hitting heavier than ever before and swords attacking swiftly to enable an easy retreat.
Thanks to the cover system, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" players can now use just about anything as cover. The Melee weapons are quite unlike each other in terms of damage and speed. Just like the previous three games, weapons from the Milky Way Galaxy use physical ammunition, but with improvements. They are now more projectile-based, high-impact and inflict more damage to non-shielded targets.
It is imperative for players to keep a tab on the ammo output. Moreover, it is also worth noting that the Remnant weapons tend to overheat often and thus require a cooling-off period. This is simply because they make use of beams instead of ammo.
Furthermore, the plasma-based weapons that feature tech from the Heleus Cluster of the Andromeda galaxy employ heat-seeking tech, VG 24/7 reported. There are charged based weapons in the offing as well. But players must bear in mind that more the charge, the harder it is to hit. The three key categories of weapons enable a particular style of play including biotics, combat, and tech. The aforesaid skills can be upgraded and "Mass Effect: Andromeda" players must adjust their skills and abilities based on their enemies.
