'Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy': Vicarious Visions Explains What Crash Is Wearing; PlayStation Ireland Clarifies Game Comes to PS4 ‘First’
Arianne GiftArt director for "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" Dustin King has explained what kind of clothing Crash is wearing in the remaster, following the massive confusion on the PlayStation 4 exclusivity of the upcoming game. According to King, Crash's surfer shorts is a shout-out to his 90's era persona.
"Our version of Crash is wearing surfer shorts which we felt reads much closer to the shapes, colors, and forms in the original games," the art director said via the PlayStation Blog. "It is in line with the original concept art we started from that was provided to us by Sony. We feel it also speaks to his '90s era persona."
Meanwhile, to clear up any misinformation stated in the now deleted tweet regarding "Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy's" exclusivity to PS4, PlayStation Ireland took to Twitter to announce that it will be coming to PS4 and PS4 Pro "first."
The tweet changes the course of Vicarious Visions' announcement last month, when the team tweeted that "N. Sane Trilogy" will be coming to PS4 alone. Given PlayStation Ireland's new info, it's likely that Vicarious meant it would first release on Sony's premier consoles, then possibly to other platforms later.
Meanwhile, Vicarious Visions director Dan Tanguay revealed in an interview with Game Informer that DLCs are not planned for the "Crash Bandicoot" remakes, but they are not completely off the table. This means that extra content for the remastered games could end up being released. However, it is hardly the focus of the company. The collaborators are focused on making sure "Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy" will come out perfectly, which is why fans would not want to expect DLCs to go with it.
"Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy" is priced at $39.99 It includes the remastered versions for "Crash Bandicoot," "Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back" and "Crash Bandicoot: Warped," out on June 30, 2017.
