'Splatoon 2' Latest News: Game Will Be More Immersive; To Support HD Rumble, Run At 60 FPS

As "Splatoon 2" inches towards the Global Test Fire, more information about the upcoming game was revealed. In a recent interview with Famitsu, game producer Hisashi Nogami talked what is being planned for "Splatoon 2" weapons. He clarified how Switch's new mobile app will work for game's online play. Moreover, Nogami also noted that "Splatoon" on Wii U will not have its online play dropped anytime soon.
HD Rumble Support
Nintendo Everything quoted Nogami saying that "Splatoon 2" will indeed make use of HD Rumble. He added that since it is capable of very expressive feelings, they are putting a lot of effort to get the best tactile sensations possible. He even noted that if the vibrations connected you to the times where you splatted an enemy in the game, or made something awesome, then you would be more absorbed in those moments. Nogami said that it is the kind of function he wanted to include in "Splatoon 2."

While the development team is eyeing the enhanced power of the Nintendo Switch over the Wii U, Nogami noted that they are more interested in making sure that the game runs at 60 fps. He was quoted saying that they are working on improving the graphics. However, their top priority is having it run at impressive speeds. He added that they will need to keep the sensitivity from the first game and it will be a priority during graphics adjustments.
"Splatoon 2" is expected to be released in the summer of 2017. It will be exclusively available for the Nintendo Switch.
