Leaked Images Of Xiaomi Mi 6, Plus A Preview Of Its Very Own Pinecone Chipset [Video]
Cris Xander JulianoMore leaked images of Xiaomi's Mi 6 have been circulating around the internet although this hasn't been confirmed by the company. Also, Xiaomi is expected to announce their Pinecone chipset on Feb. 28 in Beijing.
According to a report by Android Community, Xiaomi will not be present at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 in Barcelona, Spain. Perhaps the company will reveal its flagship smartphone in the coming weeks, although there are leaked images of their Mi 6 which you can check out here.
Based on the image, there seems to be no physical home button at the front. It is not yet confirmed if it was moved at the back of the device or just embedded on the screen itself. The device looks to have a 5.2 to 5.5-inch display and speculated to have 2k resolution. Other rumors suggest that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 8MP Sony front-facing camera and a 12MP rear camera. The device should have 4GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage, although a 64GB variant is also said to be available.
Meanwhile, wccftech reported that Xiaomi is set to announce its Pinecone chipset on Feb. 28 in Beijing, which could be the reason for their absence at the MWC 2017. The company decided to showcase their new chipsets via a video trailer featuring World Memory Champion Wang Feng.
Xiaomi plans to release two chipsets this year, the V670 and the V790. The V790 will be running a processor in a 4+4 configuration, a combination of Cortex A73 and Cortex A53 cores with the ARM Mali-G71 chip. On the other hand, the V670 will feature eight Cortex A53 cores but will be clocked at higher speeds and will be paired with the ARM Mali-T860 GPU.
