‘Pokemon GO’ Requires Fundamental Changes; Investing in Stardust Not A Great Idea

With the release of Gen 2 in "Pokemon GO," players are coming back to the game in hordes. Gaming experts have started debating on various issues related to the game, and some even believe, that the game requires certain fundamental changes to be the best always. While some think that the Gym/Battle system needs a total revamp, some say that the Stardust currency should be removed completely. Stardust has been an essential part of the game since its launch and is widely used to catch Pokemon and hatch eggs. It's also used to upgrade the critters.

According to Paul Tassi of Forbes, Stardust in "Pokemon GO" is not that effective as players need a large amount of these to upgrade Pokemon to higher CP Levels. Te lowest levels may require 200-400 Stardust, and depending on the player's level, this amount goes up significantly, so much so, that for the highest potential CP levels in the game, players have to shell out 6,000-10,000 Stardust per upgrade. Candies are Pokemon-specific and thus, it makes sense for players to pile up on Candies.

However, stockpiling on "Pokemon GO" Stardust is a bad investment as upgrading all final-stage Pokemon with Stardust is next to impossible as players will run out of them fast. Hence, players use Stardust only for a select few. Players should not be held back from upgrading and Stardust does just that. Upgrading one Pokemon means the player has lesser amount of currency for another, probably more important upgrade.

"In 'Pokemon GO,' using a shared pool of Stardust is a limiting factor in doing that. Either it's a literal limit, as in if you try to spread it around your team, you will run out of it quickly and be doing something "inefficient," or it's mentally limiting, and you get people with hundreds of thousands of Stardust that don't want to spend it because they're waiting for like, Mewtwo to come out or something," Tassi says in the report.

If "Pokemon GO" players are still interested in collecting Stardust, they can do so by catching at least one Pokemon everyday to take advantage of the daily stardust bonus, writes Tech.Mic. Stay tuned on Mobile & Apps for more updates on the game.
