“Star Wars Rebels’ Season 4 will be on air in autumn 2017. Lucasfilm announced on Friday the renewal of the TV series for Season 4 on Disney XD which Star Wars UK tweeted.

Comicbook reports that Dave Filoni, executive producer of “Star Wars Rebels,” frequently teased about a Season 4 because he has more stories to tell about the crew of Ghost and the battle for freedom of the Mandalorians by Sabine Wren. He says that he wants to ensure there is a satisfactory conclusion to the stories of Ezra, Hera, Zeb, Kanan and the rest of the crew.

'Star Wars Rebels' Cancellation

With the confirmation from Lucasfilm, it kills speculations that “Star Wars Rebels” would be cancelled after Season 3 to give way to another animated series. More information and details about Season 4 of the series would be shared to fans at the Star Wars Celebration in April, according to The Verge.

Set between the prequel and original trilogies, “Star Wars Rebels” explores the origins of the Rebel Alliance that would later cause the defeat of the Galactic Empire. Grand Admiral Thrawn from the expanded universe joined Season 3 of the animated series, while “Star Wars Rebels” tied in heavily with “Rogue One,” the first standalone film, by bringing in Mon Mothma and Saw Gerrera.

4 More Episodes For 'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3

“Star Wars Rebels” Season 3 would end this March with only four more episodes left for airing. Spoilers say that this week, the animated series would feature Mon Mothma, leader of the Rebel Alliance. There would also be several major moves forward toward the events of the original trilogy.

AP-4 and Chopper, which are droids, and some more Imperial insight would be the focus of next week’s “Star Wars Rebels” series. After that, the show would head for Tatooine and the show for Season 3 would conclude with the final showdown between Darth Maul and Ob-Wan Kenobi.
