Lenovo gave tech enthusiasts a brief glimpse of its Tab4 8 Plus tablet during the recently concluded MWC (Mobile World Congress) event in Barcelona. Now, the device has found its way on GFXBench benchmarking website.

Lenovo Tab4 8 Plus bearing model number B-8704 was recently spotted on GFXbench with the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system. Interestingly, this shred of information does not coincide with the company's recent unveiling of the new tablet with Android 7.0 pre-installed.

Nevertheless, this leak, which suggests Lenovo could be internally testing the Google's latest Android 7.1.1 update for its upcoming tablet, has definitely raised hopes of zealous tech buffs that have restlessly been waiting for the Beijing-based tech firm to throw more light on the new tablet.

Lenovo has a reputation for releasing a bunch of devices without rolling out updates for its highly adept handsets, but if rumors about the company finally deciding to provide Nougat to its users come to fruition, this may change soon.

It's worth noting, though, Android Nougat will be coming pre-installed on new devices and will not be rolled out as an update to aged devices. As expected, this stirred conversations among gadget freaks who even brought up the issue on change.org.

A robust Snapdragon 625 will be powering up the Tab4 8 Plus. Lenovo's new tablet will come with an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1200 x 1980 pixels. The device will have an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP front snapper, TheAndroidSoul reported.

The Tab4 8 Plus packs 64GB of internal storage for the variant with 4GB of RAM, while the 16GB variant comes with 3GB of RAM. The device has a 4850mAh battery on board.
