Pixel 8 Pro Unveils December Feature Drop: Enhanced Video, Night Sight Timelapse, Pixel Watch Integration

Google made a big announcement about Gemini AI, which is getting more attention than the other new Pixel phones. Along with AI upgrades for the Pixel 8 Pro phones, Google showed an Android 14 update focused on improving Pixel cameras.

This update is said to give better videos and a feature that helps users sharpen out-of-focus pet photos.

The latest Pixel devices get some new camera options. The Photo Unblur, which came with Pixel 7 and is an improvement on Pixel 6's Face Unblur, cleans up pictures without adding too much grain like Photoshop sometimes does.

Before, it didn't work on animal pics, leaving fuzzy pet photos unless changed manually. Now, all Pixel Tablet and Pixel 6 phones can sharpen up pet shots without hassle.

The New Google Pixel 8 Pro Camera Upgrades

The Tensor G3 chip inside the Pixel 8 Pro works together with cloud processing for a new camera option called Video Boost. It records videos to see right away or share, also making a different kind of file that Google servers work on.

Tools that improve color, lighting, how steady it is, and skin tones make pictures vibrant and range dynamic with natural-looking skin.

Night Sight Video enhances recording when it's dark.

Photos also get a way to adjust the light in portraits with "Balance light," and dirt magically disappears from scanned papers like receipt pictures in Drive.

The Fold's cover shows what the inside screen does. Plus, every Pixel since six and the Fold can use their USC plug for a webcam if choosing "Use USB for Webcam" on USB Settings.

The new app Photo Unblur, which came out on the Pixel 7, was meant to make blurry photos clearer without getting grainy like Photoshop. But it didn't work for pet pictures, so furry friends stayed fuzzy without fixing it yourself.

Now they updated it, so you don't have to mess with settings to clean up shots of your dogs or cats on Pixels since the six and tablets, too.

No more out-of-focus fluffballs if you don't feel like editing by hand.

December Updates on Some Pixel Devices

Google's December updates bring thrilling improvements to its Pixel devices, which includes their revolutionizing Pixel Watch.

Those with a Pixel Watch or the next Pixel Watch can now easily unlock their phones, offering a faster swap to face unlock or fingerprint scanners.

Also, Call Screen abilities extend to the Pixel Watch, allowing call handling and live voicemail writing from the wrist. Pixel Tablet customers benefit from spatial sound upgrades and Clear Calling.

The update also joins the clock and weather squares on one screen and adds some new watch faces for the first Pixel Watch. Google's long post details these changes and the bugs they fixed. The tech team works as one to make their products better.

Plus, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are still sold at lower prices than before, keeping up the deals from Black Friday.
