British brand Mr. Jones Watches has announced its new Satellite watch, a unique gadget with one rotation per day, offering a new time-telling experience.
The Limited Edition Satellite comes as the first model in the company's sixth series of watches. Satellite's ingenious display is the work of designer Crispin Jones, renowned for the "Remember You Will Die" watch frame.

"The world's first 24-hour watch (one rotation per day) without any hands or digits on the dial," Mr. Jones' new Satellite watch sports an enigmatic design: the outer hour marker literally orbits the inner minutes. Each hour is marked by a bright color, and each color follows a regular six hour pattern, which means users can learn to read the time intuitively.
Being a 24-hour watch means the hour "hand" makes one complete revolution of the dial in 24 hours. The unconventional arrangement of the outer hour marker orbiting the minutes market draws inspiration from the movement of celestial bodies: the farther a planet is from the center of gravity, the longer its orbit takes.
The Satellite watch comes in a brushed stainless steel casing with a black PVD coating, which gives it a durable, yet stylish appearance. The strap is made of black leather with black stitching, and the strap itself comes in two diameters to suit both smaller and bigger wrists.
The Satellite watch measures 1.45 inches in width, i.e. from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, and 1.81 inches in height, from lug to lug. It runs on a Ronda 515-24H single jewel quartz mechanism, is waterproof, and comes with a 12-month warranty.
The elegant appearance, however, seems to extend beyond the watch itself. The new accessory from Mr. Jones is neatly packed in a MJW box sporting a newly commissioned artwork by illustrator Fanny Shorter. The artwork is inspired by the 24-hour mechanism and suggestively shows the life cycle of the Mayfly (which takes 24 hours, as one might have guessed).
The new Satellite watch will be available from mid-November in a limited edition of only 100 pieces. Each watch will be numbered on the case back and will include a signed certificate from the designer.
