On Tuesday, Nov. 13, Google released its flagship smartphone the Nexus 4 and within an hour the initial inventory of the Nexus 4 was sold out in the U.S. as well as the UK. Google has launched the Nexus 4 in black color; however, UK online retailer Carphone Warehouse shows the Nexus 4 available in black as well as white.
Nexus 4 packed with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean has already seen high demand as initial stocks for both the 8GB and 16GB version priced at $299 and $349, respectively, are sold out and customers waiting for their turn to purchase the device when Google makes it available again.
Previously, MoDaCo posted a purported screen-shot image from Carphone Warehouse's internal inventory system, which showed a Nexus 4 black with a price tag of £389.95. The leaked image also shows a white version of Nexus 4, but the price of the white model is not shown on the picture.
However, latest news indicates that Carphone Warehouse is now advertising the Nexus 4 in black and white color options.
"Right now, when you click on the white version over at Carphone Warehouse, there is no image there. We've reached out to confirm whether it really exists or is a technical mistake, and will update you as soon as we get a confirmation," reported PhoneArena.
Whether this option is simply a technical glitch on Carphone Warehouses' Web site or will indeed be coming soon to UK customers - we will have to wait and see. However, even if the white version is made available in the UK, the white Nexus 4 variant may or may not make its appearance in other countries.
The Nexus 4 packs top-end hardware specifications at a cheaper price when compared to the other smartphones with a similar built. It may not come as a surprise if the Nexus 4 grabs a major chunk of market share from other top-end smartphones.
If you are a potential Nexus 4 customer, will you buy the black version or will you wait to see if the white model is made available soon?
