The Windows Phone 8 (WP8) powered smartphones have already started to make their way to the shelves and four companies - Nokia, HTC, Samsung, and Huawei - have announced that they will offer WP8-powered devices. Nokia, HTC, and Samsung have already revealed their handsets and smartphone enthusiasts are waiting for Huawei to launch its WP8 handset. Fortunately, they don't have to wait for long as images of the company's WP8 device Ascend W2 have leaked and indicate that users may soon be able to lay their hands on the device.
The China-based Huawei already has a line-up of smartphones on offer. With the launch of WP8 smartphones the company will dive in deep with the big-wigs.
Images of Huawei's WP8 phone Ascend W2 leaked on a Chinese Web site Winp.cn and rumors indicate that the smartphone will have an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual flash and the device will also include a front-facing camera.
Speculations suggest that the Ascend W2 will sport a 4.5-inch HD display and a dual-core processor will power the device. The smartphone is expected to measure 132 mm x 67 mm x 10 mm (5.19 x 2.63 x 0.30 inches) and support 4G LTE connectivity.
Not much is known is known about the Ascent W2, but to compete aggressively with other WP8-powered smartphones Huawei will have to deploy its best in hardware as well as features.
Previously, rumors indicated that Huawei's another WP8 smartphone Ascend W1 will be launched in October this year. However, there is no news from the company regarding the launch of Ascend W1. The Ascend W1 may have a 4-inch WVGA screen, a 1.2GHz dual-core chipset with 512MB RAM, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 4GB of internal memory with the option to expand using a microSD card. A 2000mAh is expected to power the handset. However, the Ascend W1 is expected to be made available in the Chinese market alone.
Huawei is expected to launch both the smartphones at the CES 2013 in January. If you are looking for a WP8-powered smartphone from Huawei, you will have to wait till January to see what the company has on offer.
