Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has touched the U.S. shores with a big bang with major carriers offering the phablet. Verizon was the last major U.S. carrier to announce the Galaxy Note 2 and now its subscribers can expect to lay hands on the handset in late November.
The Galaxy Note has been one of the most popular Samsung smartphones and now the successor, Galaxy Note 2, is no less. The much-touted Samsung phablet is undoubtedly one of the most powerful smartphones in the current smartphone industry and has already notched up 3 million sales worldwide.
"As for the shipping date, if you pre order the Note 2, Verizon intends on delivering it to your doorsteps on November 27th. However, it looks like November 27th will not be the official Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release date at Verizon. Nope, a leak from last month indicates that Big Red will actually release the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in its stores on November 29th," reported GForGames.
Verizon subscribers will have to shell out $299.99 for the 16GB version of the smartphone on a two-year contract. Subscribers who do not want the hassle of a contract can buy the handset for $699.99.
Other major networks like AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile are also offering the Galaxy Note 2 at a similar price. Both AT&T and Sprint are offering the 16GB version of Galaxy Note 2 for $299.99 on a two-year contract and for $649.99 without any contract. T-Mobile is currently selling the handset for $199.99 on a two-year contract and $699.99 without contract. All carriers are offering the Galaxy Note 2 in Marble White as well as Titanium Gray colors.
The phablet boasts a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. A 1.6GHz Exynos processor powers the device. The Galaxy Note 2 sports an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and is thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy Note, at a slim 9.4mm.
The device comes with the Samsung's signature S Pen stylus and supports Near Field Communication (NFC). The Galaxy Note 2 is available in 16/32/64GB versions and users will have the option to expand the memory to up to 64GB using a microSD card. The smartphone also has 2GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 2 comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Samsung's original Galaxy Note was highly welcomed in the smartphone industry and the Galaxy Note 2 looks set to keep up the legacy.
With the Verizon version of Galaxy Note 2 set to launch soon, will you buy the phablet?
