It's a well-known fact that smartphones are battery drainers, which makes portable charging solutions very popular, especially when they are on sale.

Amazon is currently offering a significant discount - 51 percent - for the highly-rated New Trent IMP120D portable charger as part of its Black Friday Deals Week.

Smartphone owners looking for a high-capacity portable charging solution can now get the New Trent IMP120D for $53.50 shipped (and Prime-eligible) instead of the $109.95 full price from Amazon. Keep in mind that this offer will not be available for long, as it is part of Amazon's Black Friday Deals Week.

The high-capacity portable charging solution from Trent is basically a standard two-port USB portable charger. It does, however, have a whopping 646 reviews in its favor, and a 4.5 star rating, which make it seem like a good purchase.

The New Trent IMP120D is a heavy duty 5V/2A-1A Dual USB charger, capable of rapidly charging two devices. The 2A output is designed to work with iPads and other tablets, while the 1A output is designed to charge iPhones and other smartphones.

This portable charger claims to offer a battery life of up to 55 hours of movie watching for iPhone 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, and iPod Touch 1G to 5G, providing 80 percent of the third-generation iPad's battery life and 120 percent of iPad 2's.

According to Amazon, the New Trent IMP120D is compatible with major smartphones including Apple's iPhones and all versions of iPod Touch, the new iPad and iPad 2, and Android smartphones from Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, LG, BlackBerry, Sony Ericsson, and other.

Supported Android devices include the Samsung Galaxy Note, Nexus, S3, S2, S, the HTC Titan, Sensation, One S, One V, One X, EVO, Desire, and Thunderbolt, the LG Optimus series, the BlackBerry Bold, Curve, and Torch, the Motorola Razr HD, MAXX, Bionic, Atrix, and the Nokia Lumia 700, 800, 900 and GoPro. The IMP120D iCarrier is the upgraded version of the IMP1000 iCruiser, notes Amazon.

It is also worth mentioning that the New Trent IMP120D portable charging solution does not include any iPhone or iPad adapter or cable, but it is compatible with all original Apple cables.
