China-based ZTE launched its Grand X smartphone in July 2012 in Europe and now word's on the street that the device may make its way soon to the U.S. shores via carrier T-Mobile.
Per reports, the ZTE Grand X had recently passed through the FCC and has a T-Mobile logo on the back, indicating that the U.S. carrier is gearing up to offer the smartphone.
"The FCC today approved a version of ZTE's Grand X Android phone that appears to be designed for T-Mobile USA. In addition to sporting a T-Mobile logo on the back, the phone supports the WCDMA 1700 (AWS) network used by T-Mobile USA," reported Phonescoop.
"A revision of the ZTE Grand X has just passed through the FCC, undoubtedly destined to land on T-Mobile. Not only does the device have FCC clearance to operate on T-Mobile's 1700/2100MHz AWS frequencies for HSPA+, but also has a nice bit of T-Mobile branding on the back," reported Android Central.
The ZTE Grand X sports a 4.3-inch display with 960 x 540 pixels resolution. The smartphone features 1GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, and runs on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
Considering that the features and specs of the Grand X are not ground breaking, the ZTE smartphone should be priced reasonably in the under$100 category, if and when it is launched by T-Mobile in the U.S.
