With the onset of 2013, tech buffs would soon be treated to a plethora of devices that are slated to make and appearance at the CES and MWC in January and February, respectively. One of the major players to watch out for is Taiwanese company HTC, which apparently has several new devices in the pipeline, including its 2013 flagship smartphone - the HTC M7, the Facebook phone, and three other mystery phones.
Per reports, codenames of nearly 35 impending devices from the company have leaked online. The leaked list also includes some already released devices like the Deluxe models (codename for the HTC Butterfly), Evita (HTC One XL), and K2 (HTC One SV).
"In a fairly big leak from HTC's camp, we're getting a look at the product codenames for a number of phones that have yet to be released," reported MobileSyrup.
The list of leaked devices is as follows:
The leaked codenames list brings to light the existence of eight variants for the much-rumored HTC M7 which, many believe, is the company's flagship smartphone for 2013. Per rumors, the HTC M7 will sports a 4.7-inch 1080p display, a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, a 13-megapixel primary camera, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.
The different variations in codenames (M7_U, M7_WL, M7_WLJ, M7_WLV, M7DCG, M7DTG, M7DUG, and M7C_DTU) hint at the likelihood of HTC marketing the phone worldwide.
The leaked list also includes the OPERA UL, which is rumored to be the alleged Facebook phone. This phone does not have any variations to its codenames, indicating that only a single version of the device is in the works and will likely be a global handset as well.
However, the most intriguing information that can be gleaned from the list is codenames that have popped up for the first time, pointing to three new mystery devices. These new codenames are Monaco, Primominiu, and Impression J. While the Monaco has three code name variants, the other two just have one each.
Currently, not much is known about this trio; however, it is possible that the Primominiu could be a succesor of the Primo aka HTC One V. Additionally, the Verdi and Quattro are speculated to be tablets, whereas the Venus will likely be an entry-level phone.
With so many devices in the works, HTC seems poised to take the smartphone market by storm in 2013.
