The hunt for the highly coveted iOS 6 untethered Jailbreak is still on with teams working hard to finally crack open the, reportedly, impossible iOS 6 security feature.
The jailbreak is still a work in progress and as the wait continues, one of the most important individuals "who might hold the keys to a successful untethered iPhone 5 jailbreak" has appealed for an Open iOS, different from the current one, when Apple releases iOS 7.
The individual called Cyril, popularly known as @Pod2g on Twitter, who is responsible for important parts of the iPhone 4S jailbreak last year, has called to fans in demand for a much more open iOS, when the next iOS version from Apple is released.
"If you agree that iOS needs more openness, why don't we make #weWantAnOpenIOS trend on twitter! That would be our answer to Apple," Pod2g wrote onTwitter.
However, it is certain that Pod2g has enough faith on the upcoming iOS 7, which is likely to be the name for the Cupertino-based company's next iPhone and iPad platform. The newest refresh from Apple is expected to arrive later this year, and it has also been speculated that Apple may show off the new version of iOS at WWDC 2013 during the summer.
Accordingly, if the current Apple trend, as far as a new iOS version release is concerned, continues, fans and users may see the new refresh officially arriving this fall, similar to what happened with iOS 5 and iOS 6.
The team hasn't got much to report from the new iOS 6 jailbreak front but has assured that not all is lost. This is because hacker David Wang, or popularly known as Planetbeing, is still working on a new jailbreak with hopes that he will soon get the better of it, and any kind of security measures introduced by Apple.
"It's a no surprise that many within the iOS community have grown restless with the lack of a jailbreak for iOS 6. The trouble is, once you become accustomed to using a jailbroken device with the vast quantity of tweaks available, it's like a drug, and a stock device feels crippled in comparison," a previous Redmondpie report stated.
This is a major reaction by Pod2g to Apple's newly implemented security procedures after the hacker gave a lengthy interview to iDownloadBlog back in December 2012. At that time, the hacker shared his thoughts on the iOS 6 jailbreak progress, on what motivates him, and also a message to Apple about the iPhone 5 and the future of the iPhone.
"I'm very confident about the next 6 months. I honestly believe that iOS 6 will be jailbroken and that developers will keep coming up with more quality apps. Discussions about future tweaks during JailbreakCon have opened new doors. Creativity won't stop," Pod2g said.
