LG pipped rival Samsung at 2013 International CES (or CES 2013) by winning the Innovations Award for its 4K Ultra-HD CINEMA 3D Smart TV (84LM9600).

By Ultra-HD, it means the television offers 4 times (hence, 4K) the resolution of standard HD television. The 84LM9600 comes with the full package - 84-inch Ultra-HD display (3840x2150 pixels, or over 8 million pixels), 2.2 channel sound system (10 speakers and 2 sub-woofers), Magic Remote (with voice control technology), Lg's Resolution Upscaler Plus (to upscale any content to near 4K), CINEMA 3D and Smart TV capabilities, seven 3D glasses (4x3D Glasses, 2xDual Play Glasses, 1xClip-on), and built-in Wi-Fi.

No wonder, 84LM9600 has won best Innovation Award in video display category and it promises to revolutionize living room entertainment.

LG is planning to bring smaller models in 2013 - 55-inches and 65-inches, to be precise - but I wonder, whether these television sets will find any buyers. The 85-inch model carries a price tag of $19,99.99.

However, if you're one of those who won the lottery recently, you'll be happy to know that 84LM9600 is now selling in stores.
