Canadian smartphone maker RIM is going out there with all guns blazing in a build-up to its BlackBerry 10 OS and devices launch that is slated for Jan. 30. The company has just announced a new contest via Twitter, which gives participants a chance to win a BlackBerry 10 handset.
The RIM "BlackBerry 10TO" contest runs from Jan. 14 midnight to Jan. 17. The company has 30 BB10 handsets up for grabs, and each winner also gets a case for the phone and two tickets to the BlackBerry 10TO party in Toronoto, which will be held on or around Jan. 30.
"There are thirty (30) prizes available to be won (each a "Prize"). Each Prize consists of one (1) BlackBerry 10 smartphone, one (1) smartphone case and an invitation for the winner and two (2) guests to the #BlackBerry10TO Fan Event which will take place in Toronto, Ontario Canada on or around January 30, 2013 ("Event"). Actual date will be confirmed by Sponsor prior to the event. Approximate retail value of prize pack up to $1000 USD," notes RIM's contest terms.
To enter the contest, simply follow BlackBerry on twitter and tweet "what you are most excited about for BlackBerry 10, and include the hashtag #BlackBerry10TO."
The winners will be notified via a Twitter message between Jan. 2 3 to Jan 28. Only those residing in Canada (barring Quebec) and the U.S. are eligible to enter the contest.
However, there is a catch. Should you win, you would need to pick the prize up at the party itself and pay for your own transportation.
To be in with a chance to win one of the 30 BB10 handsets head to BlackBerry's official Twitter page and get tweeting!
