Samsung's mid-range Galaxy Rugby Pro has started to get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update over-the-air (OTA) from AT&T or via the Samsung Kies content sync and software application.
The Galaxy Rugby Pro is designed to withstand some of the toughest conditions and is durable for rugged outdoor use. In military specification tests, the Galaxy Rugby Pro can survive blowing rain and sand, high humidity, and thermal shock. The smartphone also has an anti-scratch touchscreen and backlit keys for easier operation in the rain or at night.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update brings several enhancements and fixes to the Galaxy Rugby Pro. The Android 4.1 software upgrade also brings Google Now and Project Butter to the smartphone for enhanced user experience.
The update brings camera enhancements where new live camera and camcorder filters offer a range of camera effects, as well as pause and resume while recording a video. The device also gets the pop-up play update with which users can easily resize or pause the pop-up play picture-in-picture video window.
Easy mode of the update is a simplified user experience option for first- time smartphone users. The update also brings blocking mode, which disables incoming calls, notifications, alarms, and LED indicators for a designated period of time.
Additionally, users get improved usability with multiple keyboard options with the addition of the Swype keyboard. Music Hub has also been added and Facebook support is updated with the Android 4.1 upgrade.
With the update rolling out, Samsung's Galaxy Rugby Pro joins many Android smartphones which run the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS.
Users can find a step-by-step guide on how to install the update on their Galaxy Rugby Pro from Samsung or AT&T support pages.
