T-Mobile's roadmap of its upcoming devices with launch dates has leaked online. So let's take a look at what and when we can expect from T-Mobile even before they want us to know about it.
T-Mobile announced that it would be carrying BlackBerry 10 devices when they were available and the roadmap reveals a March 27 launch date for the "BlackBerry Lisbon" aka BlackBerry Z10. The roadmap also reveals a Feb. 27 launch of a LG Nexus 7 tablet. Is this a new Nexus 7 since ASUS currently builds the Nexus 7? It could be a new Nexus 7-inch tablet made by LG or simply a typo for the current Nexus 7 tablet.
The same day T-Mobile makes the BlackBerry Z10 available for sale, it will also launch the "Samsung Codina", which Tmonews believes will be the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, a new entry-level Android smartphone.
The report also shows the March 17 launch of "New Rate Plan and Data Offers (100% Value)." This will be T-Mobile's new approach to end offering subsidies to customers by lowering the price of a device in exchange for signing a new 2-year contract.
It remains to be seen whether T-Mobile's new pricing plan takes off in the U.S. T-Mobile is taking the approach which almost every other carrier outside of the U.S. does - offering a zero-subsidy device without committing a customer to a contract. It's a risky gamble but T-Mobile hopes it will catch on with customers in the U.S.
