The Lumia 620, the most affordable Windows Phone 8 device from Nokia, is now officially available in Russia for 11, 990 rubles, the equivalent of $396.
The device can also be found on Euroset for the same price along with free shipping (for the next day) for delivery in Moscow, and two weeks for other locations in Russia. While the price is far more than the $250 that Nokia spoke of, one must take into consideration that in Russia phone prices have always been higher than elsewhere.
The Lumia 620 is Nokia's cheapest Windows Phone 8 handset to date. With such an affordable asking price, it's surprising that Nokia managed to pack a 3.8-inch display with a 1Gz dual-core processor in its small frame. Other specs includes a 5-megapixel camera at the back, a VGA front-facing camera, 512MB of RAM, and 8GB of internal memory with memory card support up to 64GB. That's pretty impressive for such a small device, and what's most important is that it comes running on Windows Phone 8.
One would think some of the Windows Phone 8 features would have been pushed aside, but Nokia found ways to make everything work. The camera is even able to capture video in 720p. How long before we see smartphones at this price point with the ability to take videos in full HD? Shouldn't be no more than a few years.
