The LG Optimus G Pro is the successor to LG's current flagship smartphone, the Optimus G. If you're wondering what new features Pro offers, you're going to be pleasantly surprised as this device has some of the highest end specs and features of any smartphone.
LG is building off on the success it found with the Optimus G. Google chose LG to build its current flagship Nexus 4 smartphone and it didn't look any further than practically having LG build an Optimus G inside a Nexus 4 case. It's definitely a compliment to LG's design and innovation when it comes to building smartphones. However, LG's not one to rest on its laurels and if rumors are to be believed, Optimus G Pro is in the works now.
The Optimus G Pro boasts of more power and features than its predecessor. Reportedly the Optimus G Pro will launch on NTT Docomo in Japan, possibly in May. The device is expected to be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and feature a 5-inch 1080p HD screen, a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 4G LTE radio, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 13 megapixel rear camera and 2.4 megapixel front-facing camera.
The smartphone will likely be powered by an impressive 3,000mAh battery. It reportedly will weigh 160 grams and measure 139 x 70 x 10.1mm. LG is expected to offer the Optimus G Pro in two color choices - Indigo Black and Platinum White.
There has been no word of when LG might announce the LG Optimus G Pro but all indications point to an unveiling at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February. The Optimus G Pro could also be the basis for the rumored Google Nexus 5 smartphone, the successor to the Nexus 4 that has been making the rounds on tech news sites lately. Stay tuned.
