With only a few days until BlackBerry 10 is released officially by RIM, we're getting a first look at the gold master version of BlackBerry 10 running on the BlackBerry Z10.
RIM will officially announce the launch of BlackBerry 10 (BB 10) and smartphones running the next-generation operating system on Jan. 30. The company is expected to announce new features of the operating system as well as formally introduce two smartphones running BlackBerry 10 with carrier and pricing information.
BGR has posted about 100 photos of the gold master version of BlackBerry 10 running on the BlackBerry Z10. It provides screenshots of all of the features of RIM's next-generation operating system, as well as revealing that RIM is planning on launching the BlackBerry Z10 with a lower than the usual $199 price point with 2-year contract. The tech site claims RIM might make the device available for $149 when signing a new 2-year contract.
The photo gallery will take you on a tour of setting up and exploring your new BlackBerry 10 smartphone and offers a detailed look at all of its features. The walkthrough will get you up close and personal with how to use gestures on your device running BlackBerry 10.
We get to see RIM's answer to Siri, Apple's voice recognition engine. The photos also show off how to use the NFC capabilities of the device, as well as a tour of BlackBerry Hub. RIM created BlackBerry Hub to be the centralized location to check for all notifications from email, messaging, and social networking and all only being a swipe gesture away.
Judging from this first look at BlackBerry 10 running on the Z10, it's clear that RIM is hoping that an intuitive, gesture driven operating system is the key to bringing it back to the prominence it once held in the mobile world. We'll know more when RIM launches BlackBerry 10 and smartphones at a media event on Jan. 30.
