HTC never takes a break from creating new smartphones and currently it's cooking up a very impressive device in the form of the HTC M7. The HTC M7 is rumored to be a carrier exclusive device and will make its way to Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.
The HTC M7 is believed to feature a 4.7-inch 1080p 468ppi (pixels per inch) SoLux display, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5, a 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, 4G LTE and HSPA+ radios, 32GB internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, Beats Audio, IR Port (for universal remote capabilities), and a 2,300 mAh battery.
The HTC M7 is also expected to be the first device HTC ships with HTC Sense 5. HTC Sense is the overlay HTC uses on top of Android as a way of customizing its smartphones; Samsung similarly does this with its TouchWiz UI. The new version of Sense is expected to feature a simpler and more subdued interface compared to all previous versions of the skin.
HTC is rumored to announce the M7 on Feb. 19 during a press event HTC will hold in London. Many were expecting HTC to announce the smartphone during Mobile World Congress which kicks off in Barcelona on Feb. 25 and runs through Feb. 28.
HTC is desperately trying to reclaim the days it had previously seen with success in both Windows Mobile and Android. As Samsung got more serious about Android, it quickly took over the title of being the top Android smartphone maker from HTC. Things have now only gotten worse for HTC and in 2012, HTC decided it would try releasing less smartphones while putting more focus on quality. While the HTC One series smartphones were well received and had very impressive designs they failed to take off with consumers who were choosing Samsung and Apple devices. HTC is hoping the tides are turning and it might be, as a new rumor is stating that HTC could see the M7 being a carrier exclusive device on Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint. This could be the break HTC has been waiting for and it couldn't come at a better time for the struggling smartphone maker.
