Nokia, which had launched a free music service for its users in September last, has now gone a step ahead and come up with a paid upgrade for the Mix Radio service.
Music+, the new paid upgrade, will allow users to browse through and download plenty of tracks and also give the option of skipping tracks. Users of Mix Radio service, who don't want to upgrade to Music+, can still stay with the unpaid service.
The service will be available on monthly subscription. U.S. subscribers will have to spend about $4 per month for enjoying the new service.
Nokia has also introduced lyrics option in the service. Users can see the lyrics of the songs they are listening to on their Nokia Lumia. The lyrics will be available in three formats -scrolling list, Karaoke style, or up-and-down scroll.
Music+ will also give its users an improved quality of music. With its new options users can set the download quality. For example, if you don't want to use your mobile data for downloading high quality tracks, you can fix the setting to download high quality tracks when you use Wi-Fi connectivity.
With the service of the Nokia Music+, subscribers will also be able to play music on their computer, smart TV or other compatible devices with the help of a web-app .
Nokia Lumia's Mix Radio was also giving the download option to play the music offline, but the option was limited to only four mixes. However, with the Music+ users can download unlimited tracks, save playlists and play them back when they are not using their Nokia Lumia.
"Nokia Music is great for discovering new music, and we've found that there's a core of users that want even more of it. This is how Nokia Music+ came about. By introducing features like infinite skips and unlimited downloads, we're opening the doors for unlimited music discovery at only €3.99 per month," Jyrki Rosenberg, VP Entertainment at Nokia said in a Nokia blog post.
The Nokia Music+ is expected to be launched in some weeks.
