China-based smartphone maker Huawei recently unveiled a trio of handsets at the CES 2013, which included its much-awaited 6.1-inch Ascend Mate phablet. At the time of the launch, Huawei did not disclose the price of the phablet and mentioned that the Ascend Mate would hit the shelves from February.
Now, the Ascend Mate is up for pre-order on a Chinese online retailer, Meizu Shop, and will set consumers back by $575. For those who were worried that the Ascend Mate would not hit international shores there's good news. International shipping is also available.
The Ascend Mate is currently the biggest smartphone in the market. It sports a mammoth 6.1-inch HD IPS+ LCD touchscreen with Corning Gorilla glass with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The touchscreen can also be operated with gloves thanks to the "Magic Touch" feature, which provides "enhanced screen responsiveness even with gloves."
The Ascend Mate measures 6.44 x 3.37 x 0.39 inches and weighs 198gms. The smartphone also packs in a 1.5 GHz Hi-Silicon quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of on-board storage, an 8-megapixel primary camera, a 1-megapixel secondary snapper, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and a 4050mAh battery (up to nine days of stand-by time).
Currently, it seems as if only the white and not the black version is up for pre-order. To pre-order the Ascend Mate, head to Meizu Shop and grab your handset while stocks are available.
