Sony Xperia SP is once again in news as it emerges with four new leaked images on the Web. The smartphone codenamed HuaShan is seen placed next to Sony Xperia V. The photos have been posted by the Android Hilfe forums.
The leaked images clearly show the front of Sony Xperia SP and Xperia V where the former has a slightly larger screen than the latter. "It is interesting to note that the Xperia SP has a slightly larger build than the 4.3-inch Xperia V. This suggests a larger display for the Xperia SP, perhaps 4.55-inches like the Xperia ion,"xperiablog.net reports.
Giving the comparison images, Android Hilfe notes that Xperia SP has a plastic back cover which can be removed to insert the microSIM and microSD card; however, the battery is non-removable. The prototype device shown in the leaked images apparently run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The devices shown in the images apparently crash a lot and are largely unstable, but that is explainable as the handset is presumably running on software that hasn't reached its final version.
Though the leaked images do not contain any information about release date, the Xperia SP, commercially named HuaShan with the model number C530x, is expected to see an official release at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 scheduled to take place later this month in Barcelona.
The Sony Xperia SP (models C5302, C5303, C5306) is rumored to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T chipset with a 1.7GHz dual-core processor, Adreno 320 graphics, a 720p resolution that measures 4.5 inches and 1GB of RAM. The mid-range smartphone is speculated to support LTE.
It's noteworthy to mention that a recent listing in the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information's Web site reported that Sony's HuaShan smartphone will be released as the upcoming Xperia SP with model number C530x.
The list also included a new device called Xperia L that is also set to arrive. According to an UnwiredView report, Xperia L is speculated to arrive with a FWVGA display of 480 × 854 pixels, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 1GHz processor, and run Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
